We offer sophisticated pigmentation treatments designed to dramatically even out skin tone, reduce the appearance of sun damage, acne scarring and dermal pigmentation.

Our advanced Cosmelan treatments work by decreasing the skin’s melanin production by inhibition of the enzyme tyrosinase.

Most clients experience exceptional improvement in their skin tone after just one treatment.

Compatible with all skin types, Cosmelan is a seamless 2-step facial treatment that delivers exceptional skin corrective results.

What is Cosmelan?

The Cosmelan Depigmentation Peel is a breakthrough treatment that utilises a 2 phased approach to eliminate dark patches caused by melanin deposits. First, it deactivates a critical enzyme in the production of melanin responsible for the formation of dark spots. Secondly, it utilises a proprietary blend of bleaching agents and botanical ingredients to eliminate existing excess pigment deposits. Most commonly performed on the face, neck and decolletage; the Cosmelan peel can also be effective in evening the skin tone and reducing dullness, dryness, acne scarring, blemishes, and dark spots on hands, abdomen, breasts/nipples, and legs.

Who is Cosmelan for?

Cosmelan can be safely performed on any skin tone and is used to address skin concerns, including: - Melasma & Chloasma
- Pigmented scars, acne scarring - Freckles and sunspots
- Uneven, patchy or discoloured skin
Cosmelan cannot be performed on patients who are currently pregnant, breastfeeding, have active rosacea or who have been on Accutane in the last six months

Are the results permanent?

Cosmelan is designed to be a long term depigmentation treatment. Most clients experience a dramatic reduction in the appearance of unwanted pigmentation following just one session of Cosmelan. To ensure long-lasting results, your treating nurse will advise you on the homecare required to optimise and prolong your results.

What are the side effects of Cosmelan?

The most common short term side effects include: - Redness - lasting up to 21 days
- Peeling
- Soreness
- Dryness
- Itching
- Heightened sensitivity to the sun

What is involved in a Cosmelan treatment?

The Cosmelan depigmentation treatment is executed in 2 phases: the first phase consists of the application of Cosmelan I, a mask which you wear home and keep on from 8 to 12 hours, depending on your skin type as determined by your treating nurse. At the indicated time, the mask is washed off with water. Your skin will begin to peel two or three days after the initial application of the mask. You may experience redness, itchiness, and tightness of the treatment area. The second treatment phase consists of daily application of a maintenance cream called Cosmelan 2, containing botanical acids that support the depigmentation achieved. Initially after the procedure, you may experience different sensations, varying from warm flushing and inflammation to slight itching and tightness of the skin. To maintain satisfactory results a strict homecare guideline of products must be followed at all times.
